After passing the qualifying round last week, I had to work on Magali's sketch for the first round of the tournament.

I first started to freak out when I saw it, because if liked the top and bottom bands, that large center strip with all these pieces of paper did not attract me so much. That seemed too busy compared to what I am doing now.
So I did lots of hard thinking to find the idea until last Tuesday at 4am. I woke up in the middle of the night and my brain started to boil ... At 5am I finally gave up on getting back to sleep and got up to take action.
I strated with the red spots of acrylic paint, and then I waited patiently for the rest of the family to  wake up in order to work around the table and make noise (photo printing, grubbing in scrap boxes, printing photos ...)
In the beginning of the afternoon my page was ready!

I chose for this page two pictures of Léon from our weekend in Malta last november. My husband had managed to take a great serie of pictures from Leo running around, pictures full of movement.
As you can see I decided to shorten a little this central strip to allow space on the sides. I disorganized a little bit the central part to avoid this great neat horizontal line of paper, and I especially (and I'm too happy with my find) used tracing paper to lighten even the whole thing. I sewed all around it with red thread to highlight it, but thanks to this trick you can see my beautiful spots underneath and the whole page doesn't look too busy. I used paper from the line Chap by American crafts.

Now it is up to the jury to decide. There were so many beautifull pages on the last round that I think my chances to go through the next round are quite low but who knows ...
Have a great day!
